Financial Planning and Investment Management Services

A second look when you can't afford to get it wrong. Pay by the hour, project, month.
Comprehensive Retirement Planning
Everything you need to retire and stay retired. I build the plan, manage the portfolio, and provide ongoing financial planning and advice. I stay in it with you — which means I'm reachable when you need me and I follow up regularly on the things you'd otherwise have to remember yourself.
What's included
-
A written pragmatic financial plan (not a book) covering retirement income, taxes, insurance and estate — updated as your life changes, not filed away
-
A full risk assessment and a written investment policy so we both know the rules BEFORE markets get ugly.
-
Portfolio construction and ongoing management, rebalanced and placed tax-aware across your accounts
-
A withdrawal strategy: which account you spend from first, and what that does to your tax bill
-
Social Security claiming analysis, including the survivor decision
-
Medicare analysis and strategy
-
Roth conversion planning in the low-tax years between retiring and RMDs
-
Coordination with your CPA and estate attorney, so you're not the one relaying messages
-
Quarterly scheduled reviews, plus a call from me whenever something changes that affects your plan
-
Phone calls and email answered within one business day
Who it's for
People within 10 years of retirement or already retired with a minimum of $500,000 of investable assets who want the whole thing handled by one person who knows their situation — and who are tired of hearing from an advisor only when there's something to sell.
Comprehensive Retirement Planning begins with a paid planning engagement, quoted as a flat fee before any work starts. If you go on to have me manage your investments, a portion of that fee is credited against your first year's management fees. Full fee details are in my ADV brochure.

Wealth Management
Wealth Management
For people still building. You've done well, the accounts have piled up in different places, and nobody is looking at the whole thing. I take the pieces you've accumulated and turn them into one coordinated plan — then manage it and keep it current as your income and your life change.
What's included
-
A written financial plan covering the things that actually move the needle at your income level — taxes, savings priority, insurance, and what you're building toward
-
A full risk assessment and a written investment policy so we both know the rules before markets get ugly
-
Portfolio construction across every account you hold, managed as one portfolio instead of six unrelated ones
-
Tax-aware placement and ongoing rebalancing — which dollars belong in which account, and why
-
Equity compensation planning: RSUs, options, ESPP, and what to do with a concentrated position you're afraid to touch
-
Retirement plan strategy — 401(k), backdoor and mega-backdoor Roth, deferred comp
-
Coordination with your CPA and estate attorney, so you're not the one relaying messages
-
Quarterly scheduled reviews, plus a call from me whenever something changes that affects your plan
-
Phone calls and email answered within one business day
Who it's for
People still in their earning years with $500,000 or more in investable assets, whose finances have gotten complicated faster than they've gotten organized — multiple accounts, equity comp, a concentrated stock position, rental property, or a business. You don't need someone to sell you anything. You need one person looking at all of it.
Hourly, Project, and Subscription Planning
Some decisions you only get to make once. Not everyone needs me managing their money — sometimes you need one good answer, a plan you can run yourself, or a fiduciary on call as decisions come up. Three ways to do that.
By the hour:
One question, one answer. You bring the situation, I bring the analysis, we're done when it's settled.
By the project:
A flat fee for a defined piece of work, with something written you can act on — with me or without me.
Common projects:
-
Retirement readiness — can we retire, when, and on how much
-
Social Security timing, including the survivor decision
-
Portfolio review — a second opinion on what you hold and what it's costing you
-
Rollover analysis — what to do with the 401(k) after leaving an employer
-
Military and first-responder retirement — pension election, survivor benefit, TSP
-
Estate and beneficiary review — where the gaps are
-
Risk and insurance needs — what you're actually exposed to
-
Asset allocation and a written investment policy, in plain English
-
College savings, charitable giving and donor advised funds
-
Net worth snapshot, custom budget, or a debt payoff plan
-
Home purchase - complete cost assessment and affordability
By subscription:
Ongoing planning without asset management. A complete plan built in the first 60 days and kept current, two or more scheduled meetings a year, unlimited calls and email in between, and investment advice for the accounts you manage yourself.
Who it's for:
People who'd rather manage their own accounts, or have assets somewhere they don't want to move, but want a fiduciary in their corner. Every project is quoted free, in advance. Tell me what you're facing and I'll tell you what it costs before any work starts.
The Single Stock Plan
You spent thirty years building it — company stock, a founder's position, something you inherited. Now it's a large share of everything you have, and you're stuck between two bad options. Sell it, and a meaningful share of thirty years' work goes to the IRS in a single April. Hold it, and one company's bad quarter can reset your retirement.
Most advisors say "you should diversify" and leave you to figure out the rest. That isn't a plan.
What we work through:
-
Where you actually stand: cost basis by tax lot, what a sale would cost you at different sizes, and how much of your future is riding on one company
-
A staged multi-year sale schedule built around your tax brackets rather than the calendar
-
Charitable strategies, where giving is already part of your plan, that move highly appreciated shares more efficiently than cash
-
Options strategies that trade some of the position's upside for a defined range while the plan runs
-
If you're an insider or subject to trading windows, a plan structured to work inside those rules
-
Coordination with your CPA and estate attorney so the tax return, the estate documents, and the plan agree with each other
How it works:
A written plan first — the analysis, the schedule, and the reasoning, in language you can actually follow. Then, if you want it executed and managed, I run it and adjust as tax law, markets, and your life change. Most of these plans take several years to complete, which is the reason to start now rather than at the end of a good year.
Who it's for:
People with a single position that has become too large a share of their net worth, enough unrealized gain that selling outright isn't acceptable, and no interest in being told to just diversify.
What it costs:
A flat engagement fee, quoted before any work begins, and a small fraction of one percent of the position it's built around. If you go on to have me manage the plan, that fee is credited against your first year's management fees. Full fee details are in my ADV brochure.
